Important Changes to ordering repeat prescriptions

from 1st January 2019

From 1st January 2019 we will no longer be able to accept requests for repeat prescriptions by telephone.  Please help the Practice by registering asap and ordering your repeat prescriptions by our preferred option, online via our website www.foyers or by handing in or posting your repeat prescription slip to the surgery.  These are the only ways we will be taking any orders for medication after the 1st January 2019

If you are having problems registering with the online service, please contact the surgery and we can offer you a time and date to pop in, and one of the Practice team can talk you through the straight forward process.

Many thanks

If you wish to call regarding results - please call after 2pm.  Many thanks

Repeat Medication

Whenever possible, please order online using the prescriptions tab on this website, or hand in or post your repeat prescription slip.

Please allow at least 2 working days from ordering to collecting your medication.

Loch Ness & Strathnairn Medical Practice is proud to be and accredited teaching Practice

We are delighted to have Medical students, Junior Doctors, and Registrars, working alongside the GP’s in the Practice.

If you do not wish to be seen by a trainee or have one present during a consultation, please inform the Reception staff.   Many thanks.

EBOLA and other Viral Haemorrhagic Fever infections

Public Health has requested that we ask anyone who has travelled in the last 21 days from an at risk area for Ebola/Viral Haemorrhagic Fever infections to telephone first for any appointment so their risk can be assessed, if they wish to see a doctor or visit the Medical Centre. Even if you have travelled to the Medical Centre you should still return home and then telephone, if you have travelled in the last 21 days from an at risk area for Ebola/Viral Haemorrhagic Fever infections.

Minor disruption

We are changing the layout of the dispensary in the practice.  The work will take up to two weeks to complete.  There may be some disruption during this time to the ordering service. Please allow plenty of time for your medication to be issued.  The work will commence on the 15th March.

Obtaining prescriptions and dispensing arrangements

green_pillsWe are a dispensing Practice so we will supply your medication as well as prescribe it. After you see the doctor in the consulting room please go to the reception desk and your medicine will be handed to you.

Medicines not routinely stocked will take a few days to order but we will inform you when we can supply them or issue you a prescription to go to the nearest Pharmacy if necessary. If you are receiving prolonged or regular courses of medication can request a repeat prescription in person, by handing in or posting your repeat prescription slip, or preferably by using our website  We will normally be able to supply your medication within 2 working days ( or three working days for items not usually stocked) but it is best to request a repeat prescription several days before you run out of tablets.

Medication you have ordered can be collected from the Medical Centre during normal opening hours. You may get someone to collect your medication on your behalf provided they are 16 or over. In limited circumstances for some medication someone aged 12 or over can collect your medication.

If you wish your prescription to be dropped off at Dores Inn or Inverarnie Stores, please choose this option on the online order form on this website.  Prescriptions for Dores Inn or Inverarnie must be placed by 6pm on Monday.

Prescriptions for Dores Inn will be available for collection from Friday am. Please collect between 9am and 11am.  Prescriptions for Inverarnie Stores will be available for collection from Friday am.

If possible please collect or arrange the collection of you medication from the Medical Centre.
