Foyers Medical Centre is committed to supporting the Armed Forces Military Covenant; prioritising NHS treatment for conditions related to military service and providing additional support from military and third sector-based organisations.  

Please speak to our admin staff or clinicians to make us aware of your veteran status and ensure we have it on your record.   

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. 

Support for our veterans, armed forces personnel and their families  

Patients who are veterans, armed service personnel and their families can access specific help and support.  Support needed can take many forms and may include financial support, mobility issues, housing problems, mental health support.

NHS Highland explains the principles of the military covenant and provides numerous links for assistance available including help with physical and mental health problems, bereavement and social support.

The Veterans Welfare Service (VWS) gives support to veterans and their dependants. The focus of the service is to provide assistance following a change in situation that may have resulted in a welfare need, such as:

• Leaving the services. • Bereavement. • Changes in disablement. • Changes affecting income or finances • Changes affecting housing
